Bruce Trophy *
The club will run weekly rounds of the Bruce Trophy starting 7th October 2021 with the final round on 24th February 2022. As in previous years the competition will be run as a *strokeplay COUNTING COMPETITION. It is still the best aggregate score from 3 courses, and the courses this year will be Eden (black tees), Jubilee Bronze and the best net score from either the New or Old (black tees), and you can play one or both during the course of the competition, whichever is your preference. The golfer with the lowest aggregate round after 24th Feb 2022 will win the Bruce Trophy. We are awaiting clarification from the Links as to the status of the Eden Course over the winter and whether it will be operating as 2 x 9 holes.

Players will choose their own playing partners and select whichever course they would like to play. To enter the competition golfers will be asked to sign in to the competition as usual through Howdidido or ClubV1, sign in opens on the Tuesday prior to the competition. Scores should be entered through Howdidido or ClubV1 as we have been doing for competitions throughout the year. (See later on inputting marker scores). There will be a small number of competitions played through the St Andrews Golf Club and the New Golf Club on the Thursdays of a Bruce Trophy. To avoid having a duplicate entry in your WHS handicap record as a result of both competitions being COUNTING we would advise golfers to play in one competition only.

KC Wright Memorial Shield
From 7th October 2021 we will also be operating the KC Wright Memorial Shield with the final round being played on 24th February 2022. As in previous years this competition will be a NON-COUNTING ECLECTIC competition over the Strathtyrum (blue tees). Players will select their own playing partners and arrange own times. The handicap allowance will be 50% of the course handicap at the time of your first round.

Players wishing to play must sign-in to each round prior to play and must enter their GROSS SCORE for each hole played on scorecard. Golfers can play less than full round but all relevant scores must be entered through Howdidido / ClubV1 each week after play and the system will automatically calculate if you have bettered your previous score at any hole. (See below for inputting marker scores).

If the Strathtyrum Course is open, at any time on the day, play is permitted i.e. any delay in opening due to frost etc. does not stop members playing , unless the course is closed all day.
